34 Weeks

Well I am on the home stretch. I am still getting my workouts in, not that its helping the weight gain... definitely not helping the weight gain. I am still strong and know that it'll help with the getting back into shape part.

I was working out this morning with a bunch of awesome fattening ladies. We are all pregnant within a few months of each other. Our workouts have disintegrated from hardcore high intensity workouts to hardcore chat about who's peeing their pants, who's spraying perfume where (don't ask), and to why for some strange reason I am so massively huge compared to my sister who is further along than me.

I am now suffering from all the really sexy pregnancy symptoms... Do I dare name a few?? I'm having a spider vein family reunion down my left leg, swelling in unmentionable areas, I feel the urge to pee my pants ALL the time. I can't breath. My stomach is straight out of Alien.. It's going to pop its head out of my belly and start screaming at you!!! I have some facial rash that is a first for me this third time around. The worst I must say though is the BRAXTON HICKS contractions. They are all the bloody time and drive me insane!!! Stop pretending body and follow through for crying out loud....

The bonus to all of this though is that pushups are easier.... I don't have very far down to go with the belly in the way. I don't need hand weights for lunges because it's now built in. Walking is the same cardio intensity as running once was and there is no plateauing... it's a steady downhill fall out of fitness..... AND IT'S ACTUALLY OK!!!

A few more weeks and the story will be different... I can only imagine how crazy ridiculous us ladies will all be on the race back to being fit.
Well... 34 Weeks in... Shoot me in the head....

24 Weeks :(

Well I am at that point where I am completely uncomfortbale but still so far away from being done. I have packed on enough weight that my poor calves ache running stairs, running is now limited to the treadmill, and the group of us girls have resorted to working out in a stairwell to avoid the strange looks :)

I have found myself a PHAT Pregnant Women group to train with... Train... Seems a bit ridiculous to call it that. We waddle and grunt and laugh at our own ridiculousness. I can say I love that I have such a great group of women that enjoy this whole process as much as I do. My sister and I have upped the anti to keep life interesting. We completed an elliptical challenge recently that involved a highest calorie in 35 minute burn requirement. I annihalated her by a vast gap of 3 whopping calories. Hey at this point I'll take anything I can get. It was such stupid fun that we are thinking on our next challenge. We are thinking rowing machine next... and then that hand pedal thing you see on the biggest loser is next. Any other ideas? If anyone can tell me where a ladder climb machine is I would love to climb her ass off!!

Since I am now laying off the hardcore bootcamps I have been doing I decided to try a "Step-Pump" class last weekend................................................ I will NEVER do that again. I thought I was going to trip over the step and face plant in front of the entire class (FYI, that is where my sister was nice enough to place my step for me) We were so hardcore when the class started, touching the bench on the Charleston kicks, well 45 minutes later our kicks looked like apes doing a ritualistic dance or something. All hunched over, red-faced, and groaning randomly. I am sticking to my stairwell I tell ya.

I am curioius to see what the next 5 weeks will bring. We are slowing fast but having as much fun as we can doing it. Sleep seems to be a challenge as JJ (Justin Junior) likes to play soccer at ohhh, 11:00-12:00 at night. Not to mention the occasional braxton hicks contractions that seem to be not so occasional. I am getting a map of god knows what country developing on one leg, or spider veins... Whatever you want to call it. I just tell people I didn't want my sister to be sad so I got fake ones tatooed on my leg. I am so stuffed up that I have been doing the classic wake yourself up with a snorting snore thing. And sitting up out of bed brings an uncontrollable grunt. It's funny. When I do a situp my stomach gets all coney looking. No crazy brown lines on my belly yet but my belly button is almost ready to ring in well done and pop. Ask my sister all about her urinary issues... I laughed so hard I cried... Makes you wonder where you can get the book that "REALLY" tells you what symptoms to expect in pregnancy.

I will be more diligent in sharing now that there are more things to share.

Almost 15 Weeks

Ok, Apparently according to my iPhone app my little tyke is the size of a navel orange. Well that explains the 10 lbs. I have definitely seen 10lb navel oranges before.

I had my first OB appt. this week. It went surprisingly well. I forgot that we have to pee in a cup before every appt now. So when you see a pregnant women walking around just think she might be walking around with pee in her purse... Yuck... The devastating part of the the visit was that we have to weigh ourselves before we go in the to the little offices. That means everyone in the waiting room is watching.. So much for stripping every obvious piece of clothing off to drop weight. I couldn't even take my shoes off. Talk about depressing the poor women before they even see the doctor! I also got reminded by my supportive doctor how quickly it all lets loose with the 3rd pregancy. At least the little tyke has roomy living conditions.

I did some running this week. I almost flaked out one night. I was sitting on the couch watching makeover week on the Biggest Loser totally expecting to not run when I was watching all these people doing the weight back on challenge where they put all the weight they gained back on in weighted vests, ankle weights, etc, and run up a mountain slowly shedding each weight. Well I felt like a lazy ass and got my gear on and ran. It sucked. I won't lie, but if these people can do this with an extra hundred pounds on, 10 lbs is a joke... I felt better afterwards and that is what counts.

I also taught strollercise this week. I was dying. I'm not sure why but doing exercises with hand weights makes me sweat ridiculously. It was crazy. I apparently look pregnant now because I was asked by a few participants. Well that darn navel orange. Do you think Lulu Lemon will start a maternity line? I am looking pretty ridiculous and next to wearing my husbands shorts don't know what I'm going to do in the next few months. Will Lulu Lemon do the same for pregnant tummies that they do for bums?

I am already at 3 workouts this week, yahoo, only one more to go and I hit my goal. Wish me luck as I am going to attempt a famous crazy Amanda Saturday workout tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

14 Weeks

I was feeling really large last weekend and couldn't remember what my weight gain was like with the other two kiddies... Then I recalled that I had kept a journal whil pregnant with my son. I rifled through my boxes and found the journal... I am larger... by almost 5 lbs. WTF!!

That's it!! All day sickness is not an excuse to be fat and lazy!! Not to mention the run with my sister reminded me of two has-beens refusing to admit they just don't have it any more. It was pathetic. We couldn't even chat because we couldn't breathe and we did 3 measly flights of stairs and couldn't walk for 3 days afterwards. Again... WTF!!

So 4 days per week of exercise is my schedule. If I do it early the fatigue won't make me lazy. And by early I mean before mid afternoon... not 6:00 am... yah right!

I did a cool HIIT workout last Saturday that included 165 burpees (that's burpees with the pushup in case you are wondering) and yes pregnant women can do burpees, it just looks ridiculous. I figure by the time I get really fat I won't have to do pushups with them because my belly will already be touching the floor.

Sunday night included a kickboxing workout. It's the first time in awhile I have had enough energy to participate being that it is a night class. It was good, a great way to get some low impact high intensity cardio in. I noticed though in the mirror that I am definitely developing a protective fat layer on my arms, why do I need a protective fat layer on my arms when the baby is in my pelvis...

Today I went for a run... a nice 6 km run... and I even did 10 and 1 walk breaks. No shame. It keeps my heart rate down and gives me the break I need. I can already feel those funny pelvic pains. Maybe I should get my belly band out for some added support? It was a nice 0 degrees Celsius. The cool fresh air helps with the nausea.

Either way, I am back in business and trying to control the weight gain as much as I can. Christmas is going to be a challenge but we'll see what I can do to not go cookie crazy!
