14 Weeks

I was feeling really large last weekend and couldn't remember what my weight gain was like with the other two kiddies... Then I recalled that I had kept a journal whil pregnant with my son. I rifled through my boxes and found the journal... I am larger... by almost 5 lbs. WTF!!

That's it!! All day sickness is not an excuse to be fat and lazy!! Not to mention the run with my sister reminded me of two has-beens refusing to admit they just don't have it any more. It was pathetic. We couldn't even chat because we couldn't breathe and we did 3 measly flights of stairs and couldn't walk for 3 days afterwards. Again... WTF!!

So 4 days per week of exercise is my schedule. If I do it early the fatigue won't make me lazy. And by early I mean before mid afternoon... not 6:00 am... yah right!

I did a cool HIIT workout last Saturday that included 165 burpees (that's burpees with the pushup in case you are wondering) and yes pregnant women can do burpees, it just looks ridiculous. I figure by the time I get really fat I won't have to do pushups with them because my belly will already be touching the floor.

Sunday night included a kickboxing workout. It's the first time in awhile I have had enough energy to participate being that it is a night class. It was good, a great way to get some low impact high intensity cardio in. I noticed though in the mirror that I am definitely developing a protective fat layer on my arms, why do I need a protective fat layer on my arms when the baby is in my pelvis...

Today I went for a run... a nice 6 km run... and I even did 10 and 1 walk breaks. No shame. It keeps my heart rate down and gives me the break I need. I can already feel those funny pelvic pains. Maybe I should get my belly band out for some added support? It was a nice 0 degrees Celsius. The cool fresh air helps with the nausea.

Either way, I am back in business and trying to control the weight gain as much as I can. Christmas is going to be a challenge but we'll see what I can do to not go cookie crazy!
